Balushahi is a wonderful sweet which is prepared in Bengali Homes. They are prepared during special occasions like puja, Bengali New Year etc. It has a wonderful taste and is not very difficult to prepare.
Ingredients:
Maida/flour- 6 cup
Water- 3 cup
Sugar- 8 cup
Pistachios- ½ cup
Ghee- 3-4 tsp
Soda- 1 tsp
Direction:
Take a large sized bowl & mix together soda & maida.
Pour the ghee along with the required amount of water.
Now create firm dough out of the ingredients.
Make small dumpling out of the dough & keep them aside.
Now take a kadai or Chinese wok & heat ghee on medium temperature.
Add the dumpling & fry it until it turns golden brown in colour.
Now a medium sized saucepan, arrange the sugar syrup.
Plunge the fried dumplings into the syrup.
Remove the extra syrup.
Now decorate them with the pistachios.
The mouth watering balushahi is ready to satisfy the taste buds.
