Cabbage Kootu

cabbage-kootu1If your children don’t like to eat vegetables, then try this healthy as well as tasty recipe. Your kids will definitely love this preparation.

Ingredients:
Toor dal- 1 cup
Cabbage- 200 gm
French beans- 50 gm
Drumstick-1
Ripe tomato- 1
Coconut (small size)- 1
Sugar- 1 tsp
Tamarind juice (thick)- 1 tsp
Chilli powder- 1/2tsp or as much heat you can enjoy.
Asafoetida- 1/2tsp
Black gram dal (splic) – ½ tsp
Mustard seeds- 1/2tsp
Pepper seeds (kali mirch saboot)- 6-7
Coriander seeds- 1 tbsp

Direction:

Properly wash & cut all the vegetables into small pieces.
Take a large pan & boil all the vegetables.
Boil the dal (lentil) in a separate bowl.
Allow them to boil properly.
Once the vegetables & the dal has been boiled properly, pour the boiled dal in the vegetable mixture.
Stir well to mix properly & add tamarind juice, asafoetida, salt, sugar & chilly powder.
Take a frying pan & heat oil.
Now add the mustard seeds & black gram dal.
Let them crackle & pour them in the vegetable mixture.
Take a food processer & blend the pepper along with coriander seeds & grated coconut.
Pour the mixture in the vegetable mixture.
Let it cook for 10-12 minutes on the low heat.
Remove from the heat & serve hot.
