Chanar dalna is quite a popular Bengali vegetarian dish. People just love to have it as a side dish. With some easy to get ingredients you can easily prepare this dish. In-fact instead of buying the prepared paneer from market you can prepare it at your home.
Ingredients:
- Oil- For frying
- Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
- Green chillies- 2-3
- Ghee/clarified butter- 1 tbsp
- Water- 1 cup
- Sugar- ½ tsp
- Garam masala powder- ½ tsp
- Ginger paste- 1 tsp
- Salt- As per taste
- Milk- ½ cup
- Cumin seed paste- 1 ½ tsp
- Cumin seeds- ½ tsp
- Potatoes (medium) – 1 (chopped into cubed shaped)
- Cottage cheese/paneer- 250 gm (cubed)
Direction:
- Take a frying pan & heat oil over the medium temperature.
- Add the chopped potato cubes & fry it a little bit.
- Now keep them separately.
- After remove the potatoes now add the paneer cubes into the same oil & fry a little bit.
- After frying them transfer them into hot water.
- In a separate vessel heat the ghee/clarified butter & pour the cumin seeds.
- Let them crackle & pour the cumin paste along with turmeric powder, water (little bit) & ginger juice.
- Stir well for almost 2 minutes.
- Pour the green chillies along with fried potatoes, salt & garam masala powder.
- Stir well all the ingredients.
- Now remove the fried paneer cubes from hot water & add into the frying pan.
- Pour the milk along with some water & let it simmer for almost 4-5 minutes.
- Serve hot with paratha, roti, rice or pulao.
