A great appetizer is a great start to an exceptional meal and chicken wings is the perfect choice for a great starter.
Ingredients:
Chicken wings- 1 dozen
Fresh ginger root- 2 slices.
Cooking oil-1-2 tablespoons
Ginger- 1slice
Soy sauce- 2 tablespoons
Rice wine- ½ tablespoons
Dry sherry-1 tablespoon
Oyster sauce- 2 tablespoons
Sugar- ½ tsp
Water- 1cup
Salt as per taste
Szechuan peppercorn- a pinch
Sesame oil- ½ tablespoon
Cornstarch- ½ tablespoons (paste)
Direction:
Separate chicken wings in halves from the joints. For at least 10-15 minutes marinate wings with soy sauce.
Take a Chinese wok, pour oil, add sliced ginger and wings. Fry until they turn brown.
Now remove those gingers and add rice wine into the wok. The add salt, sugar and Szechuan peppercorn.
Cook it for 10-15 minutes with the cover on the wok. Then increase the temperature.
Add oyster sauce and sesame oil, stir gently continuously.
Mix the cornstarch paste and let it cook until the gravy thickens.
Transfer to a serving plate and serve hot.
