Usually we prefer to buy different dips to serve with various finger foods, however sometimes it really affects our budget. So try the following homemade sauce & get some great taste without spending much money.
Ingredients:
- Bay leaf- 2-3
- Milk- 4 cups
- Sugar- ¼ tsp
- Flour- 5 level tsp
- Onion- 1 tsp (diced)
- Butter- 3 tsp
- Peppercorns- 9-10
- Salt- As per taste
- Nutmeg- A pinch of it (grated)
- Lemon juice- 5-6 tsp
- Red chilli powder- A pinch of
- Mustard powder- ½ tsp
- Cloves- 2
- Coriander leaves- 2 tsp (chopped)
- Vinegar- 3-5 tsp
Direction:
- Pour the milk in a saucepan & boil it with bay leaf, onion (diced), cloves, coriander leaves & peppercorns.
- Allow it to boil thoroughly & then transfer it from the oven.
- Let it cool down & then use the strainer to strain it.
- Now take a frying pan & melt the butter over medium temperature.
- Fry the flour till it turns brown (little bit) in colour.
- Pour the milk & whisk over medium temperature till it boils well.
- Allow it to simmer for a few minutes.
- Pour the salt along with nutmeg & red chilli powder.
- Mix thoroughly & take it off from the oven.
- Let it cool down & then pour the lemon juice along with vinegar & mustard powder.
- Mix properly & you can serve it with hot cutlets.
- Remember to check the salt before serving.
