Pabda fish is an exotic Bengali fish . Combining this fish with a wide variety of spices makes a very tasty fish curry.
Ingredients:
Pabda mach/fish- 4 large
Green chillies- 2 (cut into pieces)
Turmeric powder- 1 tsb
Cumin seeds/powder (jeera)- 2 tsp
Tomato- ½ (chopped)
Mustard oil-200 gm
Black & yellow mustard seeds- 250 gm with 5/6 green chillies for paste
Salt according to taste
A cup of water
For garnishing- coriander leaves (chopped).
Direction:
Firstly, wash those fish pieces properly and allow it to dry.
Marinate those pieces with salt, turmeric and mustard oil, and keep them in a separate container.
Take a kadai or Chinese wok and heat mustard oil in it.
On medium heat fry fish pieces till they turn brown.
Now in another pan heat mustard oil, add jeera, turmeric powder, chilli and mustard paste, salt and tomato puree.Stir for a while .
Add a cup of water. When it begins to boil add those fried fish pieces.
Let the water dry (make a thick gravy).
Keep aside from heat, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with rice for a complete meal.
