Among dairy products paneer ( cottage cheese) has an enthralling taste and is a good source of calcium. It is very ease to prepare.
Ingredients
Paneer 250 gm, cut into cubes
Bay leaf 1
1 stick cinnamon
2 cardamoms
Cloves 2
Powder chilli 1teaspoon
Coriander Powder-1 tsp
Powder turmeric ¼ teaspoon
Garam masala powder 1tsp
Tomato puree 3 tbsp
Salt according to taste
Sugar 1tsp
2 tbsp butter
Oil/ghee 2tsp
1/2 cup milk
Ginger garlic paste 3/4 tsp
Cashewnut paste3 tbsp
Dry fenugreek leaves ½ tsp (kasuri methi)
For colour tandoori masala 1 tsp
Uniform mixture of 1 onion
1cup fresh cream
For garnish finely chopped coriander
Direction:
Fry paneer cubes in ghee or oil until they turn little brown. To make them soft drench them in moderate warm water for 10-12 minutes. Then drain the water and keep those paneer pieces on a tissue paper .Take a heavy bottom pan or Chinese wok and heat 2 tbsp butter, add bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom, fry for a few minutes, then add garlic ginger paste and onion. Now it’s time for all dry powders, add chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala , tomato puree, sugar, salt, cashewnut paste and stir it continuously. Now add kasuri methi, milk and cream, add little water and let the gravy cook on medium heat. Once it reaches a thick consistency remove it from the heat , garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with basmati rice or roti or paratha.
