In present days people are quite health conscious, which is quite important. But we don’t want to adjust our taste for some healthy dishes. In this dish we have nutrition as well as taste. So try the preparation for your loving family.
Ingredients:
- Extra virgin olive oil- 2-3 tsp
- Onion (medium sized)- 1 (chopped)
- Fresh oregano or dried- 2 tbsp or 2 tsp
- Red bell pepper (large size) – 1(sliced finely)
- All purpose flour- 1 tbsp
- Portobello mushroom (large sized)- 4 (gills as well as stems removed)
- Soy sauce (sodium reduced) – 1 tbsp
- Vegetable broth/ sodium reduced chicken broth- ¼ cup
- Freshly ground pepper- ½ tsp
- Whole wheat buns- 4 (split as well as toasted)
- Provolone cheese (fat reduced) – 3 ounces (sliced thinly)
Direction:
- Take a large sized non-stick skillet & heat oil on medium temperature.
- Now add the chopped onion & stir well.
- Stir occasionally till (2-3 minutes) it turns brown in colour.
- Pour the bell pepper along with the oregano, pepper & mushrooms.
- Stir well & allow it to cook till the vegetable becomes tender (for almost 5-7 minutes).
- Now lower the temperature & scatter the flour.
- Stir well so that the vegetable get coated well.
- Pour the soy sauce along with the broth & stir properly to mix all the ingredients well.
- Now allow it to simmer for a few minutes.
- Take it off from the temperature & place the sliced cheese on the top of the vegetables.
- Now take the toasted bun & place a scoop on each bun before serving.
