Sabudana khickidi is quite popular among Indian households. Many people like to prepare this dish for breakfast. This dish is also quite popular during the puja season, when many women prefer to have some vegetarian preparation.
Ingredients:
- Potato- 1 (skin removed & boiled)
- Sugar- ½ tsp
- Sago/sabudana- 1 cup
- Salt- As per taste
- Oil- 2-3 tbsp
- Green chilli- 2 (finely chopped)
- Asafoetida- A pinch
- Curry leaves- A few
- Mustard seeds- ¼ tsp
- Coconut- 2 tbsp (grated freshly)
- Crushed groundnuts- ½ cup
- Coriander leaves- A few
Direction:
- Firstly wash the saga well & then soak it in water for almost 2 hours.
- Cut the boiled potatoes into small pieces.
- In a small sized bowl mix together salt, crushed groundnuts & sugar.
- Keep the mixture separately.
- Take a kadai/Chinese wok & heat ghee/oil over the medium temperature.
- Now pour the mustard seeds.
- When the seeds begin to crackle add green chopped chillies along with cumin seeds & curry leaves.
- Stir well & then pour the potato pieces.
- Stir properly & then add the soaked sabudana/sago along with the groundnut mixture.
- Mix well all the ingredients. If requited add a little bit of water.
- Scatter the grated coconut along with coriander leaves.
- Before serving you can also sprinkle a little bit of lemon juice.
