Kidney beans/rajma is quite popular among Indians. Vegetarian’s rajma is one of their delicious recipies. It has its own magic so with simple ingredients you can easily prepare some overwhelming rajma curry.
Ingredients:
- Tomato (large sized)- 1
- Kidney beans- 150 gm
- Salt- According to taste
- Garam masala- ½ tsp (powder)
- Onion (medium sized)- 2 (chopped)
- Coriander powder- 1 tsp
- Garlic-ginger paste- 1 ½ tbsp
- Green chilli- 2
- Oil- 2-3 tbsp
- Coriander leaves – for garnishing
- Water- 2 cups
Direction:
- Take a medium sized bowl & soak the rajma in clean water for almost overnight.
- Next day boil the soaked rajma in a pressure cooker & let it get tender.
- Take a frying pan or Chinese wok & heat oil over the medium temperature.
- Add the diced onion & stir it a little bit (till it turns golden brown in colour).
- Then pour the ginger-garlic paste & stir again for a few seconds.
- Pour the green chillies along with the tomatoes & cook it till it gets the tender texture.
- Add the salt & coriander powder.
- Stir well to mix the all ingredients well.
- Pour the water (almost 2 cup) & allow it to boil thoroughly.
- Now add the rajma & mix well.
- Reduce the flame & let it cook for almost 10-12 minutes.
- Sprinkle the garam masala powder and stir well again.
- Sauté for almost 15 minutes until the juice turn thick.
- Before serving scatter the chopped coriander leaves for garnishing.
- Serve with basmati rice or pulao.
