Spinach Rolls

Preparing an appetizer is always a little tough especially when you want to be creative with it. The following spinach roll preparation will help you to be a little creative with some mouth-watering taste.

Ingredients:

  • Onion- 1 (minced)
  • Salt- As per taste
  • Spinach leaves- 25-30
  • Oil- For frying
  • Ghee/clarified butter- 1 tbsp
  • Potatoes- 4 (boiled as well as crushed)
  • Green chillies- 2-3 (minced)
  • Amchur powder- 1 ½ tsp
  • For serving- tomato ketchup
  • Ingredients for batter:
  • Salt- ½ tsp.
  • Gram flour- ½ tea cup
  • Water- 1 tea cup
  • Regular flour or rice flour- ½ tea cup
  • Chilli powder- ½ tsp

Direction:

  • Take a frying pan & place it over medium temperature.
  • Add ghee & let it melt.
  • Pour the chopped onion & sauté them for almost 1- 1 ½ minutes.
  • Now add the minced green chillies & stir it well.
  • Stir in amchur powder along with mashed potatoes & salt.
  • Mix well & take it off from the oven.
  • Let it cool down well & make shapes of rolls out of the mixture.
  • Take a spinach leaf & roll the small potato mixture into it.
  • Wrap the spinach leaf well around the potato roll.
  • For the remaining filling as well as for spinach leaves reiterate the same process.
  • Now prepare the batter with its necessary ingredients.
  • Plunge the roll into the batter & then deep fry it in a separate kadai/Chinese wok.
