Dal is a must preparation for any normal meal among Indians. You can prepare it in various ways, but in sukhi dal you will get something different. With some easy ingredients try this for your next meal & see the difference.
Ingredients:
- Chana dal/split chickpeas – 1 cup
- Salt- as per taste
- Onion- 1 (minced)
- Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves- 3-4 tbsp
- Cloves- 2-3
- Cinnamon stick- 2
- Ghee- 1 tbsp
- Lemon juice- 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds- ΒΌ tsp
- Bay leaf- 1-2
Direction:
- Wash the chana dal properly & then soak it for almost an hour.
- Boil the dal in a pressure cooker with 3 cups of water & place it separately.
- Now take a medium sized frying pan & heat ghee on medium temperature.
- Add the bay leaf along with the cloves, cumin seeds & cinnamon stick.
- Fry them till the cumin seeds begin to crackle.
- Pour the chopped onion & let it fry till it turns brown in colour.
- Now add the turmeric powder along with the salt.
- Stir well & pour the boiled dal.
- Allow it to boil for a few more minutes.
- Take it off from the heat & use the coriander leaves to decorate the top.
- When it cools down add the lemon juice & mix well.
- Now serve the sunkhi dal with paratha or nan or rice.
