Instead of eating the same old food, everybody likes to taste something new and different. So try the following preparation with easy to get ingredients.
Ingredients:
- Saffron- A pinch of it
- Cardamom pods- 3-4
- Oil/clarified butter (ghee) – for frying
- Gram flour/besan- ½ pav
- Sugar- 1 pav
- Chana dal- 1 pa
- Maida/flour- 1 pav
Direction:
- Firstly you need to clean the chana dal well & then cook it in hot water until it gets the tender texture.
- Add water on the top.
- Pour sugar & stir continuously till it gets into the shape of a lump.
- Now use the grinder to make a fine paste without adding any water.
- Add cardamoms & grind a little bit more.
- Take it off & prepare lemon sized pellets.
- In ½ cup of water add saffron.
- Pour the besan along with maida to make a batter.
- Take a frying pan & heat ghee/oil over moderate temperature.
- Plunge the pellets into the batter first & then deep fry it until they get golden brown in colour.
- Remember to turn it over & over.
